Xigera has something for everyone. One of the Okavango’s best kept secrets, Xigera has first-rate scenery and activities combined with all the privacy a honeymoon couple would need.
Xigera is in an area which has constant water all year round. However, large islands in the area hold fine concentrations of animals. It is the ideal land and water activity camp boasting game drives, foot safaris, mokoros and boating trips. The game drives regularly see Lion, Elephant, Lechwe and even Leopard. The Big Cats are often seen walking along the wooden foot bridges, which connects the islands. The scarce Sitatunga antelope are at their highest density in this area and tracking them carefully by mokoro is a special experience never to be forgotten.
Excellent birding is also possible with Pels Fishing Owl, Wattled Crane, Slaty Egret, Rufuous Bellied Heron, Swamp Boubou and a host of Eagles, Vultures and Raptors to keep bird lovers happily busy. Comfortably furnished tented rooms accommodate 16 guests and the rooms are situated in an exotic shaded grove which look through to the river rippling past the camp.
