Nkwali Camp is on the banks of the Luangwa River, overlooking the National Park. Splendid game country is enhanced with an attractive area of ebony woodland and open grass plains. Accessing the park is an interesting experience in itself – ride in a pontoon or cross the bridge on foot .
The Luangwa Valley was formed by the extreme forces that shaped the East African Rift Valley and is home to a wide variety of game because of its three distinct habitats, the river, the adjoining lagoons and the plains. Buffalo migrate seeking fresh pastures and water and roving herds of Elephant are amongst some of the largest left in Africa. Leopard and Giraffe sightings are common. Relax at the bar in the evenings and watch Elephants and other wildlife coming down to the peaceful lagoon to drink.
