Mala Mala is a low lying region of flat bush country consisting of thriving riverine thicket to golden savannahs. This area is known for its supreme diversification of African animal species on the continent. Over two hundred different mammal species occur in abundance and even the most veteran bird lover will be pleasantly surprised to discover rare finds.
Our photographic safaris conducted in open landcruisers are always popular and provide the freedom to track down Africa’s Big 5 Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Elephant and Buffalo with ease. Carnivores on the hunt can be observed after dark on dynamic nighttime safaris.
Mala Mala Main Camp is set in handsome surroundings on the banks of the Sand River. Step out through the large sliding doors onto the secluded veranda for glorious views of the river and the nearby bushveld. The rhythmic beating of African drums announces dinner served under the night sky. Mala Mala's venison specialities and haute bush cuisine and terrific South African wine are all highlights of the camp.
