Little Vumbura is a small, intimate camp in Botswana's Okavango Delta and is surrounded by calm waters. Accommodating only ten guests on a fantastic island, its focus is more on water activities than its sister camp Vumbura as it is close to the unending waters of the immense, fast~flowing rivers.
The variety of wildlife here is striking. Little Vumbura has both the wetland and savannah species of wildlife. Explore the area by boat in the morning and see Hippos, Crocodiles, Red Lechwe and all the aquatic wildlife ~ and then travel out by Land Rover in the afternoon to see Elephant, Sable and all the dry savannah game who wander through the sweeping plains. Exciting night drives are possible almost all year. Birding enthusiasts will love the combination of all the Okavango water "specials" with acacia and dry woodland species.
Little Vumbura has five tents under a vast canopy of ancient Okavango forest with ebony, marula, knobthorn, garcinia and fig being the dominant trees. Eye-catching palms give the island a lush tropical feel and attract the Elephants onto the island. The outdoor dining area is an irresistible attraction with wooden decks built on the floodplains. Dreamy dinners for two under the stars make for an amazing experience.
